Where Did the Time Go?

Sue | March 30, 2010

Wow can’t believe that it is almost April!  Just don’t know where this month went. I have been concentrating on watching what I eat this month and have lost another 6lbs, mainly I think with walking the dogs every day.  Trying to teach Skyla how to walk on the leash better.  It is getting there, but if she sees a squirrel or cat she’s off pulling like crazy. Practice and patience and we will get there eventually.

My plans for April.  I want to start a newsletter and send out tips and resources each month, so look for that shortly.  Maybe try to narrow down more of a theme for this blog, so if you have any suggestions please leave a comment on here.

On the personal side, just concentrate on losing weight each week.  My biggest motivation each week is still the Biggest Loser, gets me ready for each new week.  I have been able to get out on my bike as the roads are fairly dry now and it is a wonderful feeling to have the fresh air blowing at your face. So that combined with dog walking should speed up my weight loss efforts too.

Motivation

Motivation

Well I am going to be frankly honest and I seem to have lost my motivation right now. I was doing so well and I started back exercising after the holidays but today I missed my work out and feel bad about it. Not sure what is going on. I know that I have finished my business course and walking to class was how I got my walk in every day. I really miss that and taking the dogs out in the snow around my yard is not the same either. I miss the friends that I made and staying home for the last week has not been exciting. My job search has not resulted in anything positive either so maybe all these factors contribute to me just feeling blah! right now!

I know I can not keep this up or the pounds will creep back on. Someone told me to check out belly dancing, so tomorrow I think I will try and find something on Youtube to look at and try.

Let me know if anyone else is experiencing the winter blahs right now.

What a Crazy Week

What a Crazy Week

Well somehow I came down with the flu from somewhere and it has been an exhausting week. I have not felt that sick in years, since my boys were small. The only positive aspect is that I lost 6lbs, but what a way to have to do that.

I haven’t exercised but drank lots of tea and water. Some nights I would drink 2 bottles of water as my throat was so dry and burning. Thankfully I am feeling much better now and am managing to get caught up on the housework and laundry slowly. Will try to get back into my exercise routine in the next few days. It is still tiring just taking the dogs out for a quick walk in the yard.

At least the weather has been sunny with a wonderful white frost all over the trees in the mornings! I wish that was the extent of our winter, even though that first snowfall is so beautiful. It’s the having to go out and drive to work in the stuff that is the downfall, plus winter just drags on to long.

Two Days In

Two Days In

Healthy Dinner

Well I am two days in and have been doing my exercises the best that I can. They are definitely hard to do and I try to push myself but also do not want to rip a muscle or anything. My goal right now is just to get into a routine and then develop the exercises more as I go.

Once home for the day I let the dogs run and do laps running and walking for about 25mins, so we have all had our exercises. For dinner, this week I don’t have to cook for anyone but myself, which is actually a blessing. So I am sticking to stir frys with a ton of veggies. Berries are bountiful right now and I am mixing, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries with low fat yogurt for a healthy mid morning snack. Lunch is a pita bread with turkey breast and cucumber. I am aiming for 1500 calories or under.

I am feeling good about what I have done so far and want to continue to improve as I go, plus add more of the exercises. It is hard just to try and do a push up on my knees!! Let alone lying down and standing up in a row, I got to six at my best point so far.

For sure I have a long way to go, but am looking forward to it. This time it is a challenge I will beat!

Til next time.
