I have enjoyed eating small amounts every 2-3 hours. I feel as though I have more energy to get my tasks done during the day. But there was one day I think Wednesday where I felt a little down.

On the good side I didn’t start eating I was tired and so didn’t exercise on the bike that day. Instead I took the dogs out side and walked around with them. I allowed myself more breaks from my work during the day and didn’t worry if not everything was done on time. I am lucky that I can normally create my own deadlines though.

When it came to cooking this week I watched what we ate. I prepared less potatoes and made a crust less quiche for dinner one night. This really cut down on the calories by not having the pastry. Last night I made a turkey meat loaf which turned out delicious. Will have to write down the recipe for that the next time I make it. Today I am making a chicken goulash. Which is basically chicken thighs in a tomato based sauce with tons of veggies, onions, peppers, celery, garlic and red pepper. I cook it for about 2-3 hours on a low heat and it turns out super yummy.

Of course it helps competing against my husband when it comes down to motivation. I want to make sure that I am right there losing weight along with him. He thinks he will out do me. When it comes to losing weight faster that may be true but I am determined to keep losing.

Next week I will probably need to add more water in, I still drink too much coffee and tea even if most of the time it is decaff. Exercise I need to add some more in but we are supposed to be doing a workout together on the weekend. He is in to martial arts so has some great workouts even though he hasn’t done them in a while.

My favorite breakfast this week was my oatmeal with applesauce a little bit of brown sugar. I found this filled me up and I didn’t get hungry until around 9.30 – 10.00 which is when I should be having my next snack anyway. We are normally up around 5.30 am and I eat about an hour later.

Would love to hear what motivates you to keep losing weight, let me know!

<a

Remember it is not what you do between Christmas and New Year’s that counts, it is what you do from New Year to Christmas that is important.

Today my husband and I weighed ourselves in and will do so every Monday. His goal is to lose 40 pounds and mine is to lose 60 pounds. My starting weight today is 232.6 and he was 246.0, we are both tall 5ft 10 and 6ft 2 ins and my goal weight is around the 170 pound mark.

Over the holidays I have been reading two books on losing weight and exercising without going to any major extremes. Burn the fat and Eating Clean. Both advocate eating 5-6 small meals a day by eating every two to three hours and not eating at least 3 hours before going to bed.

<iframe

Our 25th anniversary is in May and I would love to have lost 40 pounds by then. Bought myself a new top that I want to wear and am using that as part of my motivation.

I have been exercising lately mainly because I injured my knee back in the summer and it wasn’t getting any better. I ended up going to physiotherapy and they recommended exercising on a stationary bike. It was difficult to do at first but can now do a good 20 minutes on a low resistance. My goal here is to up the resistance slowly and work up to 30 minutes. We also have a bowflex machine which I want to use for weight training as this is the perfect combination to lose fat but not muscle while shedding pounds.

If you would like to follow along feel free to record your results below in the comments section if you like, maybe we can help motivate each other!

6.30 am For breakfast I ate:

1/2 cup oatmeal

1/2 cup applesauce

2 tsps brown sugar

1 tbsp flax seed

Coffee

9.00 am snack

yogurt

1/2 cup blueberries

Lunch

small salad

1/2 cup tuna

2 tbsp lite salad dressing

3.00pm Afternoon Snack

12 almonds

6.00 pm Dinner

1/2 cup potatoes

3 oz brisket

1 cup steamed carrots

Evening

Tea

For exercise I did 20 minutes on my exercise bike, plus my weights and stretches for my knee. It snowed like crazy here today so I went out and shoveled for 45 minutes to free up a space so my husband could drive in. We will either have to shovel more tomorrow or get the snow blower out we had that much snow.

1 cup roasted potatoes
Pepper squash, mashed with a little brown sugar
Red Cabbage
Home made gravy

2 glasses wine.

I was full without going overboard and really didn’t even want anymore. Tonight we are making some nice homemade turkey broth and will add onions, garlic and carrots to it tomorrow for dinner. So as long as I don’t add too many potatoes it will not be fattening.

So a possibly good resource to help with weight loss at WeightLossforidiots. Will do some more research on it first.

Tonight is my exercise ball and sit up nights, figured I will do it inbetween commercials while I watch the Biggest Loser tonight.

Sue<br
